HIC Hours and Cut-Off Times

  • The HIC is open Monday - Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., except for University defined holidays.

  • Cut-Off Times for Cell Orders

    For fresh cells, 9:00 a.m. on days the lab isolates cells.  See Cell Products menu for online ordering of fresh or frozen cells.

  • Sample Cut-Off Times - SCL Services

    Samples received by the HIC outside our posted cut-off times require approval at least 24 hours in advance of receipt and additional charges will apply as detailed here:

     

    ** Same-day processing cut off time is 1:00 p.m. Monday-Friday. If you expect samples to arrive in the HIC after 1:00 p.m., and same-day processing is required for your study, this must be pre-approved by Acting Technical Director Dr. Honghong Sun. These samples will incur an after-hours processing fee. 

     

    ** Next-day processing cut off time is 5:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Samples received after 1 p.m., but by or before 5 p.m., will be processed on the next business day.

     

    ** Samples received on Friday between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. We offer next-day processing on samples received on Friday between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., by prior arrangement with Honghong Sun. These samples will incur an after-hours processing fee.

  • Cell Products

    Order Cell Products (PennKey login required).  Pick up cell products at SCTR (Smilow Center for Translational Research) Floor 8, bay 181 for PBMCs, monocytes, and leukapheresis product; or bay 185 for T cells, CD4, CD8, and NK cells.  Pickup times are 2-2:30 p.m. for PBMCs and 5:30-6 p.m. for others.

    ** Clinical Studies, Specimen Processing/Banking - Contact Dr. Honghong Sun.  Samples are delivered to SCL (Stellar-Chance Labs) Room 412.  Existing projects for blood or tissue/organ processing billed through PBR, click here to submit samples online (PennKey login required).     ** Cellular Assays - Contact Honghong Sun or Yangzhu Du.  Samples are delivered to SCL (Stellar-Chance Labs) Room 412.  Existing Luminex projects or other cellular assays billed through PBR, click here to submit samples online.  Existing projects billed through iLab, click here to submit samples online (login required).
