Mouse skeletal muscle expressing β-Gal
The image shows cross-section of a piece of skeletal muscle stained for reporter gene product, β-Galactosidase (β-Gal)
and further processed for high resolution histology. Only one muscle fiber and satellite cell (center) shows positive β-Gal reaction,
while the rest of the muscle fibers are negative. Sample is embedded in epoxy resin; 1-micron sections are cut with a histo-diamond knife, counter-stained with Toluidine blue.
