High-magnification view of a fascia adherence junction connecting 2 adjacent sarcomeres seen by TEM.
Note the thin (actin) filaments from each sarcomere only terminate in the membrane plaque of the junction.
The thick (myosin) filaments are never directly associated with the junction.
