Breast cancer with active angiogenesis

This histological image shows area of human breast cancer (adenocarcinoma) with the formation of numerous small blood vessels (arrows). These newly formed blood vessels usually have large lumen and very thin vascular wall, allowing easy access of nutrients for the growth of cancer cells and a pathway for cancer cells to enter blood circulation (metastasis). Regular paraffin section with HE stain.
